The new brewery will feature a highly specialized brewhouse comprised of a 60-barrel brewhouse, a 240-barrel sour kettle brewhouse and a 10-barrel pilot system, all of which is being manufactured by W.M. Sprinkman Corp. of Wisconsin. This system will ultimately be capable of brewing more than 100,000 barrels of beer annually, although initial fermentation capacity will be 30,000 barrels annually and can be scaled up rapidly as needed to meet demand.
IS DESTIHL BREWERY AND DESTIHL RESTAURANT & BREW WORKS THE SAME THING?
In short, no. While both organizations are owned by DESTIHL Holdings, LLC., DESTIHL Brewery is our micro (production) brewery that brews and packages our beer in draft, can and bottle form and provides it to a network of beer distribution partners around the United States.
DESTIHL Restaurant & Brew Works is a restaurant/brewpub concept where we brew many of our award-winning beers and serve them alongside our made from scratch food in a full-service environment.
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DESIGN AND BUILD OF THE NEW BREWERY?
We are utilizing the services of Central-Illinois based Vissering Construction Company, which also built Hancock Stadium for the Illinois State University Redbirds and the ISU Center for the Performing Arts in Normal, and Shive-Hattery, a Midwest-based architecture and engineering firm. DESTIHL is proud to utilize union labor/workers for the construction of this new facility.
WILL KEGS, CANS, CROWLERS OR BOTTLES OF BEER BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE?

WILL THE CURRENT PRODUCTION BREWERY SITE ON GENERAL ELECTRIC (G.E.) ROAD IN BLOOMINGTON CLOSE?
Yes. We will move most of our existing equipment and all our barrels in the barrel cellar to our new facility once completed.
In June 2016, construction began on DESTIHL Brewery's new 47,000 square foot, $14 million dollar complex located on about 6 acres of land at 1200 Greenbriar Road (north of Menards®). The new facility features a larger production brewery space, including an expanded brewhouse, fermentation and cellar areas, a two-story oak barrel & foudre room for beer aging, a packaging floor, cooler, warehouse, lab and corporate offices. The facility will also include a 6,300 sq. ft. beer hall & outdoor beer garden featuring the bold flavors of DESTIHL’s beer and food to enjoy in-house or carry-out. The new brewery location is scheduled to open in early 2017. You can view several renderings of the new brewery complex below.
I WANT TO HOST A LARGE EVENT IN THE BEER HALL AT THE NEW BREWERY, WILL I BE ABLE TO RENT THE SPACE?
No. We will not close the beer hall for private events, but we will explore ways to possibly have events on the brewery grounds in the future.

CAN YOU SHIP ME DESTIHL BEER?
Unfortunately, we can’t ship beer directly to consumers. We understand how wonderful it would be to have our beer show up at your doorstep, but legally it just isn't able to happen. Our beer is available in over 17 states at select retailers or on-premise establishments. To see our growing list of distribution partners, visit our Beer Finder page.
WILL THE NEW BREWERY'S TAPROOM & BEER HALL MENU BE DIFFERENT FROM YOUR EXISTING BREWPUBS?
Yes. Our gastrobrewpubs offer guests the chance to enjoy a dining experience where our craft beer brewed both on-site and at our production brewery can be enjoyed with a full menu of our classic American-inspired pub fare, and our bars not only feature DESTIHL beer, but also adventurous house cocktails, a distinctive wine list and many locally crafted spirits.
Our taproom and beer hall, on the other hand, will feature an all-new condensed menu that pairs perfectly with our bold-flavored beers you've come to love from DESTIHL Brewery, as well as many taproom-exclusive bottles and draft releases of pilot, experimental and barrel-aged beers brewed on-site.
IS DESTIHL RESTAURANT & BREW WORKS ON S. TOWANDA AVE. IN NORMAL MOVING?
No, our original brewpub will remain open and continue to feature our signature DESTIHL entrees & appetizers as well as wine, cocktails and of course, our on-site-brewed in addition to packaged beers.
WHEN WILL YOU START HIRING FOR THE NEW BREWERY?
We are now accepting applications/resumes for all Beer Hall & Taproom positions. For more information, click here.
WILL OTHER BRANDS OF BEER, OR WINE & SPIRITS BE AVAILABLE?
Unfortunately, no. Current Illinois State law will only allow us to serve DESTIHL brand beer that has been brewed on-site, which we will proudly serve along with some non-alcoholic beverages. There will be no wine or spirits available.
WILL RESERVATIONS OR CALL-AHEAD SEATING BE ACCEPTED?
Unlike our brewpubs, we will not take reservations or call-ahead seating.
